Letters to and from Frankenau

See below a copy of the article published in HNA - Frankenberger Allgemeine, showing the quilt which has been created by the quilters of the Garden Route Eder Lahn Diemel with the help of quilters in our twin towns of Die and Wirksworth. The article describes the joint work that will be exhibited at the Jubilee Festival in Frankenau. The name for the community quilt is "Partnerschaft - Partenariat - Partnership".

The article describes plans for a quilt exhibition during the 777th anniversary of the founding of Frankenau and the participation of Frankenau's twin towns, Die and Wirksworth.
A letter sent to Frankenau on 20 December 2016:
Dear Corinne and Stefan and the Twinning group Frankenau
Wir waren so traurig, gestern die schrecklichen Nachrichten von Berlin zu hören. 2016 hat uns viele Gedanken und Erinnerungen über den Dialog zwischen den Menschen gebracht. Wir finden, dass es je mehr nötig wird, einen offenen und grosszügigen Geist zu haben, und wir möchten unsere Partnerschaften mit europaishen und weltweiten Freunden immer mehr entwickeln und stärkern.
Wir wünschen Ihnen, Ihrer Familie und jedem in der Partnerschaft sowie als in der Frankenauer Gegend ein friedliches Weihnachtsfest.

We were so sad to hear yesterday the horrible news from Berlin. 2016 has brought us many thoughts and memories about the dialogue between people. We find that it is more and more necessary to keep an open and generous spirit and we want to develop and strengthen our partnerships with our European and international friends.
We wish you a peaceful Christmas holiday to your family and everyone in the partnership as well as in the Frankenau region.

A letter sent from the Twinning Association to our friends in Frankenau:
We were shocked and saddened by the news of the tragedy in Munich, we offer our condolences
and sympathy at this time. Now it is even more important that we work to increase international
understanding and friendship through our twinning activities.
Die schreckliche und traurige Nachricht von der Tragödie in München hat uns hier ganz geschockt.
Wir bieten unser Beileid und Mitgefühl zu dieser Zeit. Jetzt scheint es noch wichtiger, dass wir
zusammenarbeiten, um die internationale Verständigung und Freundschaft durch unsere
Partnerschaftsaktivitäten zu pflegen und zu staerken.
